On July 12, 2024, Digital Time Communications organized the 13th event under the SAFER project’s Pervaaz Campaign in Faisalabad, Punjab. Held at the Community Hall-Vocational Training Institute, the event aimed to raise awareness among young men aged 18-30 about the risks of irregular migration to Europe and promote local opportunities in Pakistan, such as skill development and enterprise creation.

Key Highlights:

  • Audience Engagement: Over 51 participants attended, including community members and women who were encouraged to share insights with their families. Expert speaker Mr. Zain ul Abideen, a specialist in migration and youth counseling, and Mr. Allah Ditta, a Pakistani diaspora member studying in Germany, provided comprehensive overviews of migration challenges, cultural issues, and legal migration routes.
  • Topics Covered: Discussions focused on migration dangers, scams from unreliable agents, cultural adjustment challenges abroad, and opportunities within Pakistan, including vocational training, business development, and local career pathways.
  • Entertainment and Food: A poetry session by Anwar Maqsood added a lighthearted element, and attendees were served lunch, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Outreach and Recommendations: The event attracted a diverse audience through an integrated outreach strategy that included social media, radio, and collaborations with local training centers. Recommendations include increasing public events, expanding outreach to rural areas, and collaborating with media for broader impact.

Feedback from participants indicated strong interest in exploring legal migration options and local opportunities, with many expressing newfound confidence in their ability to make informed decisions. The success of this event reflects Digital Time Communications’ commitment to empowering Pakistani youth and reinforcing the value of local resources and growth avenues within Pakistan.
